On our 3-hour guided walking tour in Bucktown and Wicker Park, you'll get to:

  • Enjoy the Bucktown and Wicker Park Chicago neighborhoods, close to the Loop and easily accessible via public transportation.
  • Learn about Chicago history as it relates to immigration and beer, all the way from 1673 to present day. For example, did you know that Wicker Park had 70 saloons in 1886? That's compared to only 2 restaurants!
  • Visit four establishments on a mile walk of the neighborhood, including a bar with ties to Chicago's criminal past, a chill neighborhood bar with a killer beer list, a bar with some of the best comfort food in the city, and a new spot with great beer and tons of old school video games
  • Explore the basics of beer, especially related to historical brewing from 10,000 years ago through today. 
  • Taste several different beers, about 4 normal size beers in total, several of which are Midwestern craft beers.

  • Learn about Chicago history, especially related to vice (gambling, brothels, and gangsters) in Chicago, all the way from 1800s to present day.  For example, did you know one of the city’s first vice districts, the Sands, was demolished when officials staged a horse race that emptied the gamblers from the neighborhood and allowed police to enter?
  • Visit an old Capone haunt, an old German bar that is one of the oldest in the city, a blues club started by a legend, and a new microbrewery.
  • Explore the basics of different beer styles and how beer impacted the Capone-era gangs.
  • Taste a variety of different beers, about 4 normal size beers in total, several of which are local Chicago craft beers.

  • Visit an Irish Pub, a beer-and-bacon bar, a specialty beer and wine store, and one of the city's newer brewpubs.
  • Explore the basics of different beer styles and how beer is made.
  • Taste 13 different beers, about 4 normal size beers in total, several of which are local Chicago craft beers.
